Organised Research Activities

The intellectual atmosphere of the Department is enriched by weekly lecture series and by the acitivities of clusters of researchers. The weekly Departmental Colloquium offers lectures aimed at a general mathematical and statistical audience, whereas weekly research seminars are directed toward experts and students working in a particular field. The PIMS Distinguished Lectures are a series of lectures by prominent national and international mathematicians, and is funded externally by the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS). Two lectures series are also devoted the graduate and undergraduate student speakers. Conributing to the profession at large, Department members are active in organising conferences and workshops both at the University of Regina and elsewhere.
