- The course textbook (Elementary Linear Algebra, by Venit, Bishop and Brown) is available in the University Bookstore.
However, it is a recommended rather than required textbook: it is not compulsory for you to buy it, so you may wish to
wait for a while to see how you are getting on.

Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is available for this course. This offers free out-of-class study groups to help you succeed in
this class. There will be three one-hour weekly sessions and you may choose to go to one, two, or all three sessions. The
sessions are held in CW308 (College West), at the following times: Monday 1.30–2.20pm; Wednesday 1.30–2.20pm;
Friday 12.30–1.20pm. The sessions should begin on Monday 16 January.
This is a good opportunity for extra practice and help with the course material, and is not to be wasted. It's there for
your benefit! Further information can be obtained from the Faculty of Science web
site, where you can find a short video.

Tests
There will be two midterm tests, which will take place in class on February 10 and March 9.

Final exam
This will be on Saturday April 14th, 9.00am–12.00 noon.
