Mathematical Problem Solving Workshop

The University of Regina Mathematics Department runs a math workshop for students in grades 7 to 12 who like mathematics. There are no fees, but we ask that participants let us know in advance when they are coming so that we can prepare handouts for them.

With the help and encouragement of instructors, students work through challenging mathematical problems and devise strategies for solving them. Our primary goal is for students to have an enjoyable experience. For this reason there is no need to be exceptionally talented in mathematics.

In addition, we aim to help interested students become comfortable writing math contests such as the Waterloo Mathematics Contests and Saskatchewan Math Challenge, and we hope that they will choose to participate when these contests are written.

For the Winter 2013 Semester, the workshops take place at the
             University of Regina
Riddell Centre Room 286 (2nd floor)
from 6 PM to 8 PM.
